Ok, it's CS - many years on time. What's going on in the world of Counter-Strike, has anything changed? Is it still as great as it used to be? Does it still have the community spirit it used to have? Are the CS veterans still out there, getting the odd game of CS in before work? How many people are still sat in their underpants playing CS till the light hours of the morning?! It's not McDonalds causing obesity problems, it's CS - addictiveeee! CS + McDonalds, mmmmmmm.... Hrmmm... well, here's my take on things...
Ok, so it's a fact of life - we all grow up, we all take on new responsibilities (damn), have children of our own, move into jobs which requires more of our time, some of our interests perhaps migrate to more spiritually fulfilling things, gardening for example (It's true i tell ya!)...
From my own personal perspective, the fact is, the CS spirit still lives on today... CS is still one of the most popular games of all times, and still has one of the greatest online experiences for players to enjoy, one which is very unique in its offerings. Recently, I thought, for old times sakes, I might have a quick game to kill some boredom... a few months later, I am still bringing justice to the CS n00bs in the art of the deagle... *puts shades on*
What a strange experience, that is, to jump on a CS server many years down the line - only to hear the 3l4te c093d m3$$@g3s (you've played too much CS when you can read this without too much trouble, no?!) Omg! Where's the console gone! Oh, just need to turn it back on ;P
Have there been any fundamental changes in the Counter-Strike Community? Is it still the same? The fact is, it's still unique in its attraction to players around the world - a different generation now dominates it, perhaps - but the fact remains, like it or not, CS is one of those games we will all remember, and it is a game which is still very unique in its sense of community and team-orientated game play.
Keep your eyes out for the Counter-Server boys, we're still out there, and we're always happy to accomodate the n00bz for target practice *snickers*.
