Ok now, my upload speed is 900K when i tested it, but cable has an upload of 256k. now, it only has an upload of less than 30. WTF?!?! i havent called comcast yet because there may be something i can do to restore its upload performace. Also, when i run my server, ppl get dropped because of Reliable Overflowed. What is that and what does it do? What can i do to fix that problem.

Comp Spec:
Win XP
256mb Ram
766mhz
cable connection
30gb hdd
d-link router
half life counter strike retail (bought and updated to 1.0.05)

Any info would be greatly appreciated

*bump to NAT/Routing forum*

Speed Test (http://www.dslreports.com/stest)

Also, make sure to set your NIC to SEND/RECV at 100mb/s FULL Duplex.

Nothing wrong with my router. Just that my upload is slow and clients get dropped cause of reliable overflowed. How do i set my NIC to SEND/RECV at 100mb/s?

First, don't tell your residential cable company you are running a server from your house. This is a serious breach of your TOS. They may simply cap you at too low of an upload to host anything more demanding than Quake 1 or they may cancel your service.

There is nothing legal you can do to increase your bandwidth. Look into business plans or a dsl line.

I don't think your NIC being at those settings will help with your upload limitations. But...

Right click on Network Connections go to properties

You should see 'lan or high speed internet' with the connection icon below.

Right click on that icon click on properties and click on the configure button then the advanced tab

This should bring up a drop down menu labeled Value.

From there simply choose the correct option.
