    Command Line Editor

Command Line Editor | Server.cfg Editor | Mapcycle.txt Editor

Good command lines can be hard to get right, especially if you are a newbie server jockey using Linux.  Below is pretty much everything I could think of that you might need to set-up a successful command line. Just modify the fields, hit the configure button and follow the easy instructions on the page that opens.

General
Win32
Linux
OS Platform - Which operating system platform do you use?
-heapsize - If you want to designate the amount of memory allocated to the server, type in value here. Common values are 196000, 256000 or 320000.
+exec server.cfg - Do you want your command line to execute your server.cfg file? The default is yes.
+ip - If you would like to designate a particular IP address, enter it using the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format. If you do not want to designate an IP, leave it blank.
+port - If you would like to designate a particular port, type in the port number, such as 27015. If you do not want to designate a port, leave it blank.
+maxplayers - Sets the maximum number of clients allowed into your server.
+sv_lan - Toggles the creation of a LAN server.
nomaster - Makes it so your server does not register with WON - useful with LAN servers.
+<filename>.cfg - If you have additional config files that you would like executed from the command line, type each file name on a separate line. Example:
file.cfg
anotherfile.cfg
+map - Enter the name of the map you would like to start your server with - type the mapname without the .bsp extension. Most people use the first map listed in their mapcycle.txt file.
Linux Specific
The options below are for Linux servers only. If you are running a Win32 server, the answers below will have no affect on your command line.
Screen
Background
Neither
Screen/Background/Neither - You can select if you want to use screen when launching your server, launch your server in the background, or launch it without the help of either.
